Technique Clinic, Hawaii and Back Home

Well it has been a great couple of weeks. The technique clinic at FastTrax was a great experience. It was good to hear that I am using a mid-foot strike and that my cadence was as prescribed at around 90 RPM. Based on the technique clinic it is probably my downhill form that needs the most work. Thanks to Robin for his help. The next day it was off to Honolulu so running took a back seat through the weekend, but I did get out Monday for a little tempo run (5km) and Tuesday my math was way off and I ended up doing twice as many intervals as was in the plan but the view all but made up for the extra pain in my pinky toes. This view at the Diamond Head lookout kept me going. I also was able to do some barefoot running at the end of my intervals as a cool down. It was more out of sheer pain in my toes that a desire to barefoot. Thankfully the sidewalks and grass along the Ala Wai Canal are fairly rock free. It was a nice week in Hawaii, but it was nice to get home to my girls on Friday and then get out with the AthleticsNorth gang on Saturday for some nice easy intervals and then get a recovery run in on Sunday. The weather was beautiful running through Kennedale Ravine. Last week of preparation now for the EPF Half Marathon I will get out tonight for a 6-24-6 Aerobic Threshhold Run, tomorrow for intervals, wednesday for another AT run and then recovery runs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ryan Hall ran Boston in 2:08:41 today. My goal is to beat that by a minimum of 9 minutes. The only difference is I'm only running half as far. That's it for this Monday. Have fun, Run Scared.
